Attaining Advocacy: Who decides curriculum? What is the role of family and community in contributing to programs?
Description
This assignment builds on assignment 1 in which a standpoint was justified on a chosen issue and a plan of action to advocate for the issue was developed.
In this assignment you will identify the issue as a problem statement and develop a research question that will enable you to evaluate whether you were able to affect change.
This is a research proposal only – you will not actually undertake the research.
You will need to articulate the research method suited to the problem or research question. Case studies and action research are two research methods for teachers to improve teaching or the learning environment.
You will also need to include in your proposal details of the data collection and analysis, and how you will use the findings to inform and future plan quality improvement or innovation.
Higher achievement standards in this assignment depend on your demonstrated ability to consider a range of theoretical, empirical and political perspectives on the chosen issue, whilst using academic conventions.
