In the course of the module we will be looking at issues around consent in relation to midwifery care. You are required to discuss consent in relation to a particular aspect of midwifery care, for example, abdominal palpation, water birth, phlebotomy, vaginal examinations, breastfeeding or Vitamin K. We would advise that you keep your focus as ‘normal’ as possible as this is the first year of your programme.
Remember, that the essay is only 600 words long and it is important that you write in a concise way in order to get your point across. Your essay must be correctly referenced using the University recognized referencing system and you must give a list of your references at the end of your essay. It would be important for this essay that you consider relevant documentation from the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).
