The paper should consist of a simple empirical analysis and it should be at most 10 pages long (including tables and figures), text 1.5 or double spaced, font size 12.
Logical argument and interpretation of the results (up to 8 points)
DGP. -What do you think has generated the data? Describe an economic model or tell a story. What variables do you need to use to answer your research question?
Data sources, transparent data work. Anyone who read your paper should be able to reproduce the results.
Motivation -of the method. Build up your argument step by step: start with raw correlations, and proceed towards your preferred econometric specification.
Explain why you are making each step; be specific.
Statistical significance, the magnitude of estimated effects. Suppose that your estimated effect of education on income = 1000% per year of schooling. Would you believe this number?
Do not forget to answer your research question in the end!
Econometric details (up to 12 points)
Endogeneity, potential source(s), signing the bias. Note, this part alone accounts for ≈5 points!

This is the most subjective part of the evaluation.
