Consumer Culture
Description
Conducting this case study:
Introduce your object/consumer/practice/problematic/issue and its social/cultural context, and indicate some interesting critical issues it raises.
Develop your conceptual framework. Think of perspectives we have studied that help you to consider your chosen topic, but also search literature for any other perspectives that might be useful and are applied by scholars who conduct inquiry in areas that overlap with yours. Include some discussion of research that has produced relevant findings or developed some arguments about the kind of things you will examine. These might be general theories or empirical studies from another context perhaps.
Indicate and develop appropriate methods you will use to conduct an inquiry into your chosen case. What are the particular aims of your inquiry? How will you analyse case details to provide some insight into your chosen practice, object or problem in the chosen context?
Conduct your analysis and through presenting its findings develop an argument about how they shape our understanding of consumption or consumer society.
Do this in a way that acknowledges specificities of the case and context and refers back to some of the themes of discussion found in other scholarship.
