Biopsychological Research Methods.

Instructions

For your discussion post,

• Choose ONE biopsychological research method you find most interesting and explain how it works.

• Find and explain a peer-reviewed study that uses that method. Mention the research question and if possible, explain why the chosen method is so useful for answering that question. Attach a copy of the paper to your discussion post.

• Explain what the main results tell you about the structure or function of the nervous system.

• Analyze any ethical, historical, or cultural issues related to this method. Explain how this technology could impact people’s lives and society. For example, are there any dangers or risks? Are the risks and benefits of the research method distributed equally? You are encouraged to review the required article Neuroethics: The Pursuit of Transforming Medical Ethics in Scientific Ethics (Links to an external site.) and the recommended article Unethical Human Research in the Field of Neuroscience: A Historical Review for ethical commentary.

The main post must be at least 300 words. You must cite at least one scholarly, credible or peer-reviewed (Links to an external site.) article according to APA: Citing Within Your Paper (Links to an external site.).

Guided Response

Respond to at least two classmates by Day 7 of the week. Each response to a classmate must be at least 150 words.

• Choose someone who found a different method than yours and ask at least one question about their chosen method or supporting research article.

• Share your perspective about how these methods might help us understand people.

• Provide additional feedback or resources your classmates might find useful.

• At least one reply to a classmate must contain references to a credible external source or peer-reviewed article which provides more information about the methodology in question or demonstrates how such research may be applied.

You are encouraged to post your required replies earlier in the week to promote more meaningful and interactive discourse in this discussion forum. Continue to monitor the discussion forum through Day 7 (Monday), and respond to anyone who replies to your initial post.
