Domestic Violence Final paper
Description
Students will Research and write a paper focusing on one of these population/group: Children, victims, intimate partner violence or batterers. How does domestic violence affect the group you choose? How does domestic violence affect the family and community?
How does domestic violence affect the health/mental health of the group and their families?
What theory or theories do you think can be used as frame work of understanding of your chosen population?
The final paper should be a minimum of 5 pages not including the title page and reference page. Your paper should be written in APA format. It should be free from spelling and grammar issues, and should include the following elements:
1. Students will research three different theories of why domestic violence occurs and the dynamics of a victim attempting to leave the relationship.
2. Apply one of these theories of domestic violence to the population chosen.
3. Each student will explain why they chose this theory to explain the presence of domestic violence; and Applying this theory to the population chosen, what would you as a clinician do in order to empower, advocate, and serve the victim in/leaving a domestic violence relationship, while still embracing the ethical value of client self-determination
