Paragraph#1
Describe the different dimensions of wellness and what each means to you.
Paragraph#2
After reviewing the readings about the Dimensions of Wellness, explain which dimension of your wellness you feel is the most out of balance. Explain your response.
Construct a 1-sentence SMART (specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound) goal statement related to health behavior that falls within this dimension of wellness or dimensions (if it overlaps). (Example: In order to improve my emotional and physical health, my behavioral goal is to get more sleep by going to bed 1 hour earlier each night.) As you consider different possible goals, think how long you plan to work on this Competency and choose a goal that will yield results within that timeframe. For example, do not set a goal to lose 20 pounds if you only plan on working in this Competency for two weeks. That is an unrealistic expectation. Something more realistic would be related to getting adequate sleep, beginning a meditation routine, or eating more vegetables. These goals are more likely to yield results in a short timeframe.
Identify two to three specific steps you will take to work toward this health behavior goal by the end of this
Explain the potential health benefits related to changing this behavior in at least two different dimensions of wellness.
Paragraph#3
Locate at least two reputable resources that relate to the behavior change that you chose and the benefits of changing that behavior.
Note: A reputable resource can be a scholarly journal, health organization website, or another unbiased source that is backed up by evidence.
Identify at least two short-term and two long-term benefits that you would expect to see if you continue with your behavior change. Consider using a timeline graphic to display your expected benefits within your blog post.
Be sure to reference your reputable resources properly and use citations appropriately.
Paragraph#4
Where can you find health promotion information related to the goal you have identified in this blog? List two online resources you might turn to and explain why you think they would be helpful.
Update any progress and challenges relevant to your goal.
Paragraph#5
Reflect on your experience of tracking your progress and writing a health blog. Was it an enjoyable experience? What parts did you find easy, and what parts did you find challenging? Will you continue writing your blog and/or tracking your progress toward your health goal? Why, or why not?
