Determine the tools for environmental scanning that can identify potential program opportunities.
According to Salinas and Lozano (2019), environmental scanning can be used in education during the strategic planning process. The tools that could be used are listed below:
Interviews
Surveys
Focus groups
Market research and peer-reviewed articles
Engaging in vital conversations with peers or colleagues can help gather more information that could help the organization (Salinas and Lozano, 2019). This is one of the reasons that I selected focus groups and interviews as part of the tools for environmental scanning. I feel there is value in communicating one on one and in a group setting.
Determine the methods that will assist the committee to collect financial and demographic factors, including the following:
Pupil–teacher ratios
Costs of instruction
Attendance rates
Determine assessment of property values per learner or assessment of funding sources.
Determine the methods to generate a system to monitor progress.
In your response posts, evaluate the proposals suggested by your peers.
