Faustian Legend Essay
Construct an essay (minimum 3 pages) examining the differences among the four versions.
You should have an arguable argument relating to some aspect of the Faust legend.
Does the author’s historical context alter the message of the story? Do all the stories share a similar theme? structure? resolution? If not, what can be learned by the differences?
-Essay is a minimum of three pages when formatted correctly in MLA format.
-Essay contains an arguable thesis that addresses a particular aspect of the Faust legend (Essay does not simply compare the four versions).
-Statement demonstrates analysis of the role and themes of the Faust legend in literary history.
-Essay uses the four versions of the Faust legend to support the assertion in the thesis statement.
-The name of the author and the name of the Faust legend is provided for each of the four versions in the introduction.
-The last name of the author is used to reference the version being addressed in each instance throughout the essay.
-Textual evidence is used and properly cited for each of the four versions.
