Comparative Paper Assignment
The objective of this comparative paper is to compare a problematic relational event in your life (or someone else’s life) with research generated by social scientific academic research. The choice of the relational event is yours, but the event must focus on the interaction between 2 people. You must state the relational dilemma explicitly.
You will be required to conduct a search of the academic literature in order to discuss ways to address the problem you have identified. You need to provide statistical evidence from three different academic sources that address the relational problem. The paper needs to be a maximum of 4 pages. It will be graded on comprehensiveness, clarity, accuracy, and its adherence the guidelines set forth by APA. The paper must be free of spelling and grammatical errors.
1. Make sure you are using academic search engines through the library to access your research. Your research should be coming from peer review articles. I recommend using EBSCO Communications/Media Databases.
2. Frame your paper in the following format
I. Introductory paragraph about the relational problem you have identified
a. A detailed description of the event including the interactants involved in the problematic relational event.
II. Present statistical evidence from your first research article that addresses and aspect of the problematic relational event.
a. A detailed description of how the research applies to the problematic relational event.
III. Present statistical evidence from second research article that addresses an aspect of the problematic relational event.
a. A detailed description of how the research applies to the problematic relational event.
IV. Present statistical evidence from third research article that addresses an aspect of the problematic relational event.
a. A detailed description of how the research applies to the problematic relational event.
V. Conclusion paragraph that describes how the problematic relational event could have been avoided or repaired based on the research that you have identified.
