Purpose This piece of assessment requires you to select between two and three session readings (essential readings).
Discuss the pros vs cons of democracy & dictatorship political systems based on the selected three required readings (you can add other texts).
Critically analyse and reect on the authors’ arguments and summarise them with your reections and analyses of the discussions. Learning Outcomes
Critically analyse and evaluate concepts and arguments related to political doctrines
Articulate arguments and analysis in a precise and concise fashion, both orally and in written form.
Instructions The written reective report should include:
analysis around the articles’ arguments concerning dictatorship and democracy, which political theory are they applying and/or criticising;

Assessment Criteria Your result in this piece of assessment will depend upon whether you achieve the following: Effort at preparation – as evidenced by the quantity and quality of the main points presented in the required readings;
Engagement with the content of the session readings – as evidenced by the quality of the written work and presentation;
Extension beyond the content of required readings – to clarify omissions in the readings;
Organisation of materials around the three readings including references (750 words).
Presentation: reective and succinct reection of the readings, and your own analysis of the readings (5-7 min).
