Description
Each outcome needs to be roughly 600 words and rest of it introduction and conclusion.
It needs to contain critical reflection on the micro teaching activity.(nursing)
LO1 Learning and Teaching-
1) Teaching session( writer needs to choose teaching event specific for nursing( canal dressing, using nebuliser, wound dressing, promotion of self care/self-management (OSCA)-this involves student interaction with service user/patient/carer, where the purpose of that interaction is to promote self-care or self-management For example- teaching person/patient how to administer their own medications.
2) needs to contain critical analysis
3) needs to include lesson plan (must be at the appendix)
This LO1 needs to contain-
1) what is learning
-learning theories
-learning styles
-lesson planning
2)Domains of learning
-cognitive(knowledge)
-psychomotor(skills)
-affective(attitude)
How do we support learning?
-resources (exm. if we support 3 domains whith resources, what would we choose? Did we use anything to support our teaching. This may have helped the learner/patient to understand the aim of the teaching or helped “the penny dropped”(the Gestalt theory”).
-the environment-how does impact the learning(learning space, the noice, the distraction, the resources, the area around(exm. too small bed).
-transmission of knowledge
Learning Theories-
1)behaviourism
2)cognitivism
3)humanism(Maslow)
4)experimental(Kolp 1985)
Learning styles-
1) Honey and Mumford(based on Kolb’s work)
2)VARK(visual, aurial, read/write, kinaesthetik)
3)Kolb- learning style invertory
The writer needs to follow Level 6 writing!
Learning strategies
-cognitive side of learning
5 min Lesson Plan
LO2 Assessment and feedback
-Why we assess?
-What makes the assessment good( environment etc.)?
-assessment methods
-competence
-feedback
-testemony
-QandA-method to assess the learning
-assessment process-knowledge and understanding
-competence(performance, attitudes/values)
-expectations from the learner
Feedback
-what is feedback(NMC code of conduct-2018, Fry (2014)
-advocacy(explain) and enquiry(ask)
Pendelton’s rules
-subject(learner gives positive feedback_
-observer(faciliator) gives positive aspect
-subject gives areas for improvement
-observer gives areas for improvement
-feedback models(“sandwich model”)
LO3 Policies and Drivers
Critically evaluate how policies and organisational drivers influence teaching and learning in contemporary nursing.
This section can move away from the focus of my teaching session trough me and may wish to retain that theme. Alternatively you can now present a more broad view of the drivers and policy that influence education in practice.
-Educational Outcomes Framework
The writer can use as much he need references (less or more than 25) and needs to follow his own preferences.
