Persuasive Argument Project Assignment Instructions

Now it is your turn to use of ethos, pathos, or logos to persuade others to agree with your opinion on a made-up (something created by your own imagination) product or business. This project is a graded assignment and is required for course completion.

Choose one of these projects:

C. Printed Advertisement

BEFORE we talk about specific requirements for your chosen Assignment, ALL 3 CHOICES REQUIRE:

Use of at least 1 rhetorical device (Ethos, Pathos, or Logos – Logos is based on logic or reason. Ethos is based on the character, credibility, or reliability of the writer. Pathos, or emotional appeal, appeals to an audience’s needs, values, and emotional sensibilities.)

Correct grammar, spelling, and punctuation, count as part of your grade

For the Blog, you are to write a review of a fictional product or business that you are pretending already exists, but that was not made by you. For the Print Ad (which includes pictures) or the Commercial, you need to advertise a fictional product or business, that you are pretending to have created yourself. (For all options, you must give the product or business a name which you made-up.)
Choice C: Print Advertisement for made-up product or business
Create a print advertisement, such as a Word document or Power-point
Size: Presentation must take up entire frame of Power-point slide or must take up entire page.

Presentation must include:

Picture of made-up product

Name of made-up product

Information about made-up product

Strong visual appeal (to ethos, pathos, and/or logos)

Strong language that appeals to ethos, pathos, and/or logos

(This writing does not have to be in complete sentences for the print advertisement.)

Remember, the purpose of your print advertisement is to make people want your product.
