Create a personal leadership framework/model, based on some of the leadership frameworks that resonated with you across the semester.

Educational leadership and change

Description

Part A 30%

You will create a personal leadership framework/model, based on some of the leadership frameworks that resonated with you across the semester. Your personal leadership framework is just that, your beliefs about your leadership, captured on paper (or screen).

Some questions to consider when brainstorming:

What kind of leader would you like to be? Why is that? From which theoretical perspectives do you draw aspects of your framework?

How does your personal leadership framework assist you in becoming an effective global education leader?

How do you create and maintain relationships?

You will have a choice in how you want to demonstrate mastery of the four learning outcomes of the unit through your personal leadership frameworks, but everyone begins with the same tool, a visual representation of your framework on an A4 sheet of paper, one side.

While putting your ideas to paper (or fingertips to keyboard) about who you are (or aspire to be) as a leader and why, remember to be explicit about the theory (i.e. please review the marking criteria in the column to the right).

Once you have created a framework (exemplars will be shown in class), you now need to decide how best to present that to an audience of educators.

You will give a short, engaging presentation of your own leadership framework and the kind of leader you are working towards (via ePortfolio, video, dramatic skit, musical performance, Keynote*, Powerpoint*, Prezi, etc), being sure you are explicit about the context you anticipate working in.

*8 slide limit, including title slide and conclusion slide 6 minute limit for the presentation

Part B 20%

You will also be required to present a short written rationale explaining your framework of 1000 words maximum (in-text references are included in the word count). The rationale must include a reference list with at least 6 references. The reference list will not be included in the word count or quotations.
