Rock mechanics (2d and 3d modeling of slope stability)
The review should discuss rock mechanics and geology the section should include some background theory on slope stability and some results from previous work and i wanted to use 3 sources of mine and 4 new found sources
The assignment is a literature review on the topic of 2d and 3d modeling of slope stability it is a proposal for a upcoming dissertation i have to provide the literature i’ve found so far and the part should include background theory this is description for the literature review
This section includes a review of the existing literature, highlighting theoretical and practical findings of special relevance to your work and background information for the methods proposed for your investigation. If applicable, it also should include results from existing literature, as you will need to compare your own results to the literature results in the discussion chapter. If available, you should include graphs or tables with literature data, but do not forget to cite and reference them properly.
It is tempting to write the literature review in some kind of chronological order, describing the most important findings in each paper you have found one after the other. However, a much better way of writing a literature review is by subject area: for example, in a dissertation on reinforced soil slopes you may describe the different types of geotextiles used, the slope geometries and different ways the geotextiles are installed in the slope. This makes it much easier to draw attention to any differences and similarities of the different sourccgoes you found on the topic.
