Description
This piece of work requires students to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the important elements of effective leadership and management of care within the MDT. You should discuss key leadership and management themes in relation to your chosen example, drawing upon contemporary literature, local and national policy documents and an example from practice experienced during the module.
[Note: Do not forget to include your chosen example relating it specifically to leadership and management themes, and how these link to effective care within the MDT].
An example should include themes from the module, including: delegation, negotiation, change management, communication, conflict resolution, and team working.
You must ensure that confidentiality and anonymity are maintained at all times within your written work.
As part of the module you will develop a mind map to create an assignment plan which will be discussed and peer reviewed at the assignment workshops to help develop and guide your ideas for this assessment. This will enable you to share your ideas with your peers and the facilitator to help you develop an accurate and contemporary piece of work
Writing Skills
When offering ideas and concepts, you must support these by drawing on relevant evidence – that is theories, concepts and models – from the literature. Core texts and further readings have been provided in this module, but you will need to look beyond these, and can do so via electronic library facilities.
Your writing must show evidence of compare and contrast and should have application to the workplace where appropriate to demonstrate synthesis of knowledge and its application to nursing practice.
First person – usage
You can use first person when detailing your practice experience. Otherwise, it MUST always be third person (please see Lee if unsure).
Sub-headings
It is strongly advised that you use sub-headings within your assignment. At the very least, these should be:
1. Introduction (200 words approx.)
2. Conclusion (200 words approx.)
4. Assessment criteria (please read)
Please see additional file attached (it’s what your marker will use to mark and grade your assignment).
