Background Information

Quantitative research is a scientific method that objectively examines relationships between variables. A quantitative study can be either experimental or non-experimental. Depending on the research design, quantitative research can numerically measure cause-and-effect relationships or determine correlations between variables. Common quantitative research designs are exploratory, descriptive, explanatory, quasi-experimental, and true experiments. The goal of a quantitative research study is to be able to generalize the findings to other similar settings.
