• You are required to undertake a limited literature review of published primary research relevant to the research topic, demonstrating in-depth and systematic understanding and rigorous critical evaluation and synthesis of research knowledge.
• Contextualise the chosen topic with reference to current practice evidence, prevalence data (where appropriate), related theory, and relevant legislation and policy.
• Accurately describe the relevant research methodology underpinning this project, outline specific search strategies, and data-analysis methods.
• Critical review of research findings;
Demonstrate depth and systematic understanding of the topic through rigorous evaluation and synthesis of identified primary research findings drawing independent conclusions, and identifying recommendations and areas for future research.
While writing, make sure you;
• Demonstrate professionalism in the project.
• Make reference to SWEPS, BASW PCFs, KSS and professional values.
• Demonstrate the ability to take systematic approach on research.
• Critically compare, contrast and analyse research studies.
• Demonstrate how the research applies to practice, how it impacts future research and its relevance to social work practice.
• Demonstrate how does this topic influence future social work practice?
• Identify knowledge gaps of this topic.
• Identify what legislations and practice theories apply to the topic?
• The conclusion should include the implication of the topic to social practice.
• Recommendations should be specific. That is name the area which it is needed and explain how it benefits future practice.
• Use subheadings for better understanding and clarity.
• Do not introduce new literature in the discussion if it was not in the background. Therefore, make sure you introduce all literature in the background that you will want to use in your discussion. New literature can be introduced in the rest of the write up but not in the discussion part.
