Identify and explain some financial management tasks which managers have to carry out in organisations. Produce a presentation which achieves this while putting it into a practical context
1. identify at least 5 aspects of financial analysis and / or financial management tasks which will be beneficial to your current job or future career (select one aspect for these professions, (1) mining engineering, (2) civil engineering, (3)chemical engineering, (4) accountant (please select 2 for the accountant), (5) HR specialist).
2. Explain what each task involves, and how it relates to an organisation you are, or will be working for. By all means add anything else you consider relevant. include figures/diagrams.
3. These should be linked, wherever possible, to actual content on the course, i.e. from pre-reading, case study work, lectures or the briefing notes. (textbook: Accounting and Finance for Non-Specialists by Atrill and McLaney chapters 1, 2, 3, 7 and 11, use other appropriate sources)
4. The presentations should contain visual and spoken material. (please provide speech notes)
5. As a guideline, the presentation might be 7-10 minutes long, and use 7 – 10 slides.
