Overview
This week we discussed three of the most commonly used evidence-based treatments in primary care: Motivational Interviewing (MI), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CPT), and Focused Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (fACT).

Discussion Question

1. Consider a patient (current, past, or fictional) with identified comorbid medical and behavioral health conditions.

2. Provide patient background (demographics, treatment history, etc.) to support the approach to care.

3. Compare and contrast TWO of the following different approaches you might utilize to assist them in achieving improved disease self-management: Motivational Interviewing (MI), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CPT), and Focused Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (fACT).
