Paper 1 – Most Interesting Character
Context |In this assignment cycle, we will have read the following short stories:

4. Flannery O’Connor, “A Good Man is Hard to Find” (356)
Task |Your task for this assignment is to analyze one (and only one) of the above short stories with respect to a single character. In addition to the suggested reading below, you may also want to refresh your knowledge of literary elements like plot, character, setting, point of view, symbolism, theme, style, tone, and irony.
Specifically, your paper should include, at the start, a brief summary of the story, a thesis statement explaining which story and character you find MOST INTERESTING, and then paragraphs that use evidence from the story to support your claims.
Which character do you find most interesting, and why?
Your task is to complete this assignment following the first three course competencies identified in our course syllabus.
i. Write a variety of sentence structures (simple, compound, complex) consistent with the conventions of American English.
ii. Write a unified, coherent 4 –5 paragraph essay, using methods of development suited to the topic.
iii. Write an essay in response to a reading, demonstrating literal comprehension and critical thinking.
