Reflection Paper
For Reflection Paper #4, create an “intervention” that could be included in an online survey that would reduce either partisan animosity, support for partisan violence, and/or anti-democratic attitudes. Feel free to get creative with your intervention.
Your intervention can draw upon any topic covered this semester (ex: emotional reactions, implicit attitudes, misinformation corrections, discussion networks, etc.). You can design it as a survey question someone answers, a piece of text they read, a website they have to browse, or a video they have to watch. Obviously, you are not expected to make a mock news article/website or produce a video for the Reflection Paper, but if this were your intervention, tell me the details about it.
Your Reflection Paper #4 submission should include the following two parts:
1. Describe in detail your intervention including what participants in the online survey will read, do, watch, or respond to. (250 words)
2. Describe how do you think this intervention will reduce anti-democratic attitudes, support for partisan violence, and/or partisan animosity? That is, what thoughts, emotions, skills, reactions, or other mental processes is your intervention likely to affect such that you expect a reduction in anti-democratic attitudes, support for partisan violence, and/or partisan animosity? (500 words)
