The Effects of Diversion Programs
In many jurisdictions in Canada, individuals charged with certain criminal offences are offered a chance to do something like counselling or community service in exchange of having the charges dropped. Discuss whether you think such diversion programs have a positive or negative effect on crime and the overall safety of the community.
Your paper must be supported with reference to criminological principles and
theories covered in the course material.
