Read, research and annotate the short story, The Yellow Wallpaper by Charlotte Perkins Gilman and the poem, Dear John Wayne by Louise Erdrich.
Both narrators are expressing dissatisfaction that women and Native Americans have with the conformities of American society.
Describe what those conformities are and, based on your research of those issues, write an analytical essay that defends your that these conformities either still exist or no longer exist for both or either of these groups.

Papers should be double-spaced in 12-point, New Times Roman font. They should have titles and be paginated.
All papers also must include correct MLA style (MLA 9th Edition) for the “Works Cited” page and all in-text citations. Use the Purdue University OWL web site or go to the MCCC library web site to ensure that MLA style is correctly used in your papers.
In addition to popular resources, at least one scholarly source and book (or e-book) should be used for the paper. Books will be considered scholarly resources. The final paper requires that students use a minimum of seven different resources.
