Short Assignment 3, summary
Summary is an essential writing skill, and it is also a test of reading. A good summary gets to the heart of the reading and provides the main points. You will not have space for much detail or deviation, which means you’ll need a firm grasp on what the author is trying to convey.
While you are summarizing, ask yourself these questions:
· Are you picking up the key points?
· Can you separate key points from illustration and peripheral arguments?
· Can you convey the material in a succinct and readable way?
To practice these skills, your task is to summarize the main goals of the author (what did he want to accomplish?) as presented in the Introduction to Renegade Dreams (pp1-18). 200 words.
