Leading and Managing Change
Identify a leader or an organization of your choice and analyze an objective change challenge currently facing the organization or leader.
Then critically evaluate how well the organization or leader is currently addressing the challenge and what else might the organization/ leader need to do to deliver effective change.
Your chosen organization, leader and change challenge must be in the public domain. You cannot draw on private insider knowledge. Your choice of leader/organization must be current. Defining current means “is experiencing a change challenge now” (e.g., company website; recent annual report; articles in the mainstream press/business press, media interviews with key players, independent reports, etc.).
Outline the change concepts you intend to apply to analyze your case
While we are asking you to focus on one main objective challenge, be mindful that successful change management/leadership will in turn likely identify three or more main change challenges from a theoretical perspective.
Use change theory.
You can choose any national government. You could also choose other leaders of change and we encourage you to be imaginative here including for example key public figures including Jo Biden as the newly appointed president of the US (“the challenge of building trust and credibility)” sources identifiable (e.g., through hyperlinks)? include factual data that serves as a basis for evaluating the effectiveness of the change actions taken?
Mention several theory models and color print thinking theory, while addressing resistance to change by identifying a convincing change challenge.
Also, identify the Leadership style or process implemented with examples.
Avoid doing a whole report on Kotter but integrate it into your analysis (e.g., + colour print thinking + management of stakeholders, etc.). The key is to identify the major changes with references and diagrams.
