This is an end of year essay, where we reconsider a place such as a hometown, using the methods and references we have developed over the year.
Do not simply describe this place, or write its history; demonstrate that you understand why it is like it is; how its form, scale, materiality, conditions and features have come to be as they are. Reference the themes and methods we have addressed this year; reference too, the weekly reading that has shed further light on such subjects. Your essay must make good use of these themes and resources. Demonstrate how the module has helped you more deeply understand a place you already know. Essay should be illustrated.
