Discussion Prompt: Henry James Information Challenge
You are all now used to the idea of presenting some non-Wikipedia research on an author we are studying—especially since the author research prompt is always the most popular one for the first lecture of a particular work. For this prompt, there are multiple steps, all designed to have you do some digging.
Research Henry James in order to be able to respond to at least a couple of the following questions:
Why might both the United States and England officially claim him? How is it possible that he is studied in both American Literature classes AND English Literature classes?
Who was his famous brother, and in what profession is he still an important name?
Identify 3 significant novels Henry James wrote by title and year of publication. For this response, it’s possible that there will be a large variety.
