Imagine yourself working in a leadership position within a Public Health  organisation of your choice. Identify a change opportunity within the organisation and consider how to plan, implement and evaluate this change within the organisation.

Based on the organisation of choice, students will be required to imagine themselves in a leadership role with a Public Health setting. They will be required to:
• Identify the current aims and objectives of the chosen organisation.
• Analyse and review current policy provision and legislation applicable to that organisation.
• Identify a particular intervention/method of delivery and consider the effectiveness of such   and what areas of improvements are required.
• Students must apply change models and frameworks to their identified issue/area for improvement.
• Creation of evidenced based solution focused interventions.
• Evaluate the perceived effectiveness of your applied learning.

Introduction: approx. 200 words
Introduce leadership and management; make links to the different styles and models we looked at in class, for example autocratic, laissez faire and so on
Introduce the organisation and your role in it.

Main text: approx.. 2500 words
Identify which management/leadership style is in place in your chosen organisation.
Identify the current objectives of the organisation. Does it have a mission statement?
What are the current policies and legislation linked to the organisation?
Choose an area that could be improved. What is the current provision? What is not working and why? What do you propose to change? Include current statistics.
Introduce any 3 of the change models we have looked at in class:
Kotter
ADKAR
Lewins
McKinsey  7 ‘s’
Apply each of the models to the change/area of improvement.
Use evidence to support the change and the solution offered – vary your sources of information – journal articles, books, websites.

Conclusion: approx. 300
Look at how effective the models are at promoting change.
Evaluate how effective the change process has been.
