Essay – Meetings Causing too many distractions at work
In this section of your paper, describe what your study actually does, or in your case, will do. You will be expanding on the brief overview you gave us in your introduction. You should include:
Start with your prediction/hypothesis. What you are studying and why.
Participants section: Describe your participants, including recruitment, selection and assignment. When in doubt, use more detail rather than less. Describe how the participants will be recruited, what sort of demographics are relevant (i.e., race, gender, economy sector, or any other relevant features). Also, describe how participants will be assigned to groups and that sort of thing. Provide enough detail that someone could replicate your method.
Materials and Location: Describe any materials being used in your experiment. Are you using cell phones, cars, music? Tell us about those things and anything we need to know about the location of the study.
You can discuss any pre-experimental steps such as consent and what the participants will be told. This would be a good place to discuss any ethical considerations and steps you will take to ensure that your study and results will be ethical.
You can also begin to describe your variables. (You will go into more detail in the next section.)
Remember: This is a proposal and should be written in future tense. You should use APA style, proper grammar, and correct spelling. You should incorporate any feedback you were given in your last paper so that you are continuously improving your study and/or your writing.
