Applying the concepts of community mobilization, partnership(s) and problem- oriented policing, and utilizing the principles of problem solving, this assignment tasks you to connect with a community member(s) that may know about local crime/social issue which could potentially impact community safety. This might include elders, city officials, clergy, teachers, community organizers, or service-providers. In this assignment, individually, you will interview (electronically, telephone, or remotely  a member of your community. Through this engagement, identify a situation or issue – what risk factors were identified, who was or would potentially be impacted, and potential ways that this information would benefit broader community safety and well-being.

This report shall reflect concepts of problem-oriented policing and community mobilization.

Considerations for this assignment:

Contact a member of/or a community – examples are: clergy, business owner, social agency, local government, Municipal contact, community organizations, volunteer community group leaders. You may not use a friend, family friend or relative for this assignment

Have them identify a community issue which related to community safety/crime prevention
