Create a faux file… include the 5 areas that define a target audience (MY TARGET AUDIENCE IS RECENTLY SINGLE 20 YEAR OLD WOMEN – MY BRAND IS H&M WOMEN’S CLOTHING LINE – NOT SHOES)

1. Demographics – Includes age, income, gender, education

2. Geographics – Where do they live, work OR play?

3. Psychographics = Lifestyle (are they organic, vegan tree huggers or couch potatoes, what’s their typical Tuesday look like?, do they work or work out, etc.)

4. Media habits – Where do they get their news/information from?, Who influences them?, How much time do they spend online?, Do they watch TV or binge on Netflix, for example?

5. Buying behavior / usage – How do they shop?, Where do they shop?, When do they shop?, What brands do they respect?, Are they brand loyal or first time users?, How often do they use/buy the product… is there a buying cycle?
