Competency Paper Requirements
This paper must use APA 7th Edition citations and the cover page (See below). You will also be using APA after this paper. See the Academic Writing folder on Blackboard for APA tutorials and manuals.
Directions:
Paper must identify and explain each of the three competencies, Content, Communication, and Philosophy.
How are each used in the classroom, and what is the importance of each within the classroom?
What are the strengths and weaknesses of a pre-service teacher in relation to these competencies? How can an aspiring teacher develop these competencies?
PAPER REQUIREMENTS All papers must be:
examples of your best writing
written in your own words (be sure to use proper citation format when using another’s work)
free of spelling, grammatical, or punctuation errors
typed, double-spaced, with 1” margins
in Times New Roman 12 font
in proper APA format (refer to APA manuals (7th ed.)
three pages in length – not including the cover page and reference page
supported by sources and contain citations from the textbook and one outside source
Cover Page:
the title of the paper,
the name of each author of the paper,
the affiliation for each author (typically the school being attended),
the course number and name for which the paper is being written (use the format used by the school or institution (e.g., ENGL 106),
the course instructor’s name and title (ask for the instructor’s preferred form if possible; e.g., some instructors may prefer “Dr.,” “Ms.,” “Mrs.,” “Mr.,” or a different title),
the assignment’s due date written in the format most common in your country (e.g., either January 3, 2020, or 3 January 2020 may be appropriate),
a page number (which also appears on the following pages).
