Description
You can pick 3 out of those 4 topics listed below to write. Each topic is a different paper and each paper has 300 words minimum.
Topic 1: What is your responsibility for creating a positive work and educational environment for your peers and colleagues? How do/should we promote a harassment-free campus?
Topic 2: Young women continue to remain uninformed and disempowered regarding sexuality. Do you agree? What might it mean for young women to be empowered regarding their sexuality?
Topic 3: Abortion is very controversial subject. Some scholars, like Carol Sanger, suggest that public discourse about abortion has reduced the complexity of the issue to an either/or, “life” or “choice,” conversation. Imagine that you are entering a dialogue with individuals that might not necessarily hold the same views you do about abortion. Describe how you would engage in a dialogue that would grapple with the lived complexity of abortion instead of reducing the conversation to a “yes or no” position. What issues might you discuss? How would you approach the overall conversation?
Topic 4: Imagine you are an American feminist increasingly concerned about the global impact of COVID-19 on women in terms of education, access to healthcare, and employment. How do your advocate for/with global women while respecting/embracing their differences? Abu-Lughod would remind us that women do not need “saving.” What might global advocacy look like with this in mind?
