1.Research Objective:

The research aims to develop a comprehensive review that focuses on the role of women’s representation and power in the field of public administration and public decision-making. Understanding the role of women in society, how it affects women’s ability to enter general administration, and why women are in power in the political area is rare. The study has the following sub-objectives

To establish the gender imbalance between the state power and individual rights as well as the respective rights and freedom
To review the roles of women in the kingdom of Cambodia, formal education among girls and women, and the limited access to resources.
To outline the political factors contributing to low female representation in politics, public sectors, and the judiciary.

Low participation from women in the government

This qualitative descriptive study aims to explore, understand and discuss the challenges women in Cambodia face in their quest to join the political sector. The research design will involve qualitative aspects. A qualitative study is significant when the purpose of the research is to examine an occurrence by depending on an individual’s experience in a particular situation. Qualitative research also emphasizes the socially constructed nature of authenticity that displays the connection between the researcher and the occurrence under investigation (Chhoeun et al., 2008).

This descriptive qualitative study allowed a better understanding of the low representation of women in Cambodian politics and provided effective strategies that can remedy the situation. This study aims to create a theory to the following questions:

Why is there a low representation of women in the politics of Cambodia?

Which effective strategies can be applied to motivate the high representaticgoon of women in Politics?
