Effects of Domestic Violence on Women
Introduction
Background
This study involves the various implications of domestic violence on women. Women who undergo domestic violence have a high risk of poor health. Some of the types of violence include marital rape, physical assault, and sexual abuse. The consequences of domestic violence include injuries, unwanted pregnancies, and sometimes death (U.S. Department of Health). In addition to physical injuries, the victims may be subjected to mental health problems that can interfere with their normal functioning.
Statement of the Problem
Domestic violence against women has been a major problem in many communities for quite some time now. They are subjected to this torture by their partners, some of whom may be involved in drug and substance abuse, which makes them unreasonable when relating with their women. Others may have stress and depression and decide to project it on their partners by being violent. Whatever the case, the negative impacts are majorly experienced by women. If not intervened during the early stages, the consequences could be dire.
Conceptual Framework of the Study
Women subjected to domestic violence have higher chances of leading unhealthy lifestyles. On the other hand, those that do not undergo domestic violence have a better chance of leading healthy lifestyles.
