2. You are the Training Director for a medium sized organization. Your task is to design a 1-day training session proposal. You can complete the training in one day, or you can complete the training over two days, scheduling four-hours each day. You are submitting your proposal to the HR Director(professor) for approval and possible funding.
3. Your training plan should follow the Training Design Process outlined in Figure 1.2 (see attached doc).
Training design is effective only if it helps employees reach instructional or training goals and objectives.
Measurable learning objectives should be identified before the training program begins.
Evaluation plays an important part in planning and choosing a training method, monitoring the training program, and suggesting changes to the training design process.
In addition, you need to incorporate these concepts as possible in your training plan: training design process, competitiveness, competitive advantage, training, human capital, learning, development, human resource management, explicit knowledge, management, employee engagement, business strategy, goals, vision, internal analysis, metrics, values, internal growth strategy, external growth strategy, resistance to change, needs assessment, task analysis, person analysis, gap analysis, input, person characteristics, social support, ability, job analysis, readiness for training, feedback, consequences. Some specific component requirements include:
Identifying the learning outcomes and objectives
Identifying the training site and requirements
Identifying the course parameters
Include a detailed lesson plan
Discuss your expectations for transfer of training and training design
Include an Action Plan
A sample evaluation form for the trainees
Your training method
Your plan will be lengthy, but needs to be thorough to show your understanding of Employee Training & Development and to sell your training plan to the HR Director. Your company’s future success depends on the efficient and effective training of its employees.
