Description of the assessment
In the end of the module you will be assessed via a 2000-word essay, in which you will critically review the relevance and development of forensic risk assessment in forensic practice, with reference to one risk assessment tool of those presented.
This coursework assesses one learning outcomes:
2. Demonstrate a critical understanding upon the features and factorsthat formulate a case and to develop a concise account of the nature and aetiology of the offenders ’issues.
Assessment Content
In the mid term of the module, you must submit an essay, which counts towards the 50% of the
module’s grade. The grade of the essay is based on the table presented below (i.e., the assessment
rubric/matrix).
You must critically consider one of the victims – client group considered in the module.
The essay must include:
1) An introduction
2) Factors that formulate a case for one group as presented in lectures
3) Factors that formulate a case not capable to stand trial and how to avoid malingering
4) Conclusion
5) References in APA style.
The general requirement for a good answer is to:
• Show reading of relevant recent research and an ability to integrate this research into the
answer in a well-structured manner
• Be well-written, showing evidence of sound argument and critical insight
• Evidence of integration of theory from different approaches
• Detailed coverage of the factors that formulate a case
• Evidence of critical thinking in evaluation of treatment
