Using an article from Part 1 of the Reading Pool and your own personal experience, you will make an argument about some real-life issue. The Reading Pool discusses lots of real-life issues, both personal and political, so choose an article that you can relate to or that has some connection to your life.
You are required to use an article from Part 1 of the Reading Pool, quoting carefully to avoid plagiarism, and you are required to use some personal experiences that you have had or witnessed. It is okay to agree or disagree with your chosen article. This essay is not “about” your chosen article; the article is just a source; your own experiences are another source; this essay is about some real-life issue, and you must make an argument about the issue. Look for the areas that are debatable, and then take a stand for your side, drawing on evidence from your life or your article.
