PRIVATE CLINIC • Medical Lab Assistant/Administrator DECEMBER 2020 – DATE
Working in a pathology lab as part of a team, supporting and assisting biomedical scientists in other areas of pathology when necessary. Undertaking preliminary preparation of specimens as required and to ensure all requests received in the department are processed promptly and accurately. Ensuring the prompt dispatch of samples needing to be referred to external laboratories and maintain accurate records of work sent out of the department.
Receiving telephone queries from clients such as consultants, GPs and nursing staff. To comply with the Health and Safety at Work Act, the Data Protection Act and C.O.S.H.H. (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health) regulations and to comply with all relevant policies and procedures of The London Clinic.
GP • Medical Secretary/Administrator APRIL 2017 –MARCH 2020
Transcribing dictated medical letters for the Partners of the Surgery. Point of contact for various roles: insurance reports and medical records; 6 week baby check; child protection reporting, medical students timetabling, whilst also carrying out receptionist work such as answering patient queries, booking in appointments etc. Point of contact settling in new doctors and clinical staff. Sorting out room key cards, NHS email accounts when required and general tasks. Managing petty cash for private medical work. Fundamental role in reorganising hard copy of patient notes in medical room with over 20,000 patients. Typed up protocols for the various roles that I had managed for the 2018 CQC inspection.
