Question 1 (35 Marks). You are advising a Client on the most appropriate form of construction procurement and JCT construction contract to be used for a contract to build a retail unit with attached offices to be constructed as part of the development of a retail park. The Architect’s design has glazed curtain walling that will be designed and constructed by a specialist company.
You are asked to provide your advice on the following:
– Which method of construction procurement would you advise the Client that could be considered? – Explain the reasons for your selection. – Which of the JCT contracts would you advise the Client that could be used? – Explain the reasons for your selection.
Question 2 (35 Marks) Describe ‘Construction Adjudication’ and ‘Arbitration’ and explain the differences between the two procedures.
Question 3 (30 Marks) Describe and explain five provisions that should be included in a Consultant’s Appointment.
