The proposed course title that will be added to the current nursing curriculum is Technology in Nursing. Learners will require one semester to understand technological skills and expertise significant in current nursing while considering the technological changes in healthcare delivery. The rationale is that technology has had significant impacts on healthcare, thus being relevant for nurses to provide care that adopts the technological changes. The mission of the course is to teach learners to critically analyze technology in healthcare under various guidelines that ensure the protection of the patient’s data. The vision includes the fact that learners will understand the use of technology in home-based nursing while conducting evidence-based research assessments (Hallinger & Wang, 2020). Moreover, learners will align themselves with various healthcare services, including home-based care, to understand the significant application of technology, such as telehealth and telemedicine. The vision of the course is to equip nurses with significant technological skills and expertise relevant to ensuring efficient and effective healthcare delivery.
