Essay assignment
Write a paper on a topic discussed in the course. The paper should discuss (apply, further
develop, or critique) one of the readings.
Try to narrow down your research question as much
as possible. You are welcomed to consult the research question with the lecturer, preferably
by the fourth (lecture-free) week of the course.
Requirements:
– Write a paper of 1.500 words (+/- 20% margin; excluding title page, references, or
appendices containing tables and figures).
– You are asked to refer to at least two of the articles used in the course.
– You are asked to refer to at least one slide from the course or use one quote from the
lectures.
– At least at three of your references should be new (i.e. not included in p. 3-5). You should
focus on high quality journals. For high quality economics and management journals use
the list included at the bottom (p. 9).
Criteria that will be considered when grading the paper:
i. Completeness of the argument.
ii. Choice of literature.
iii. Explanation of the literature
iv. Originality.
v. Word count, spelling, and grammar.
