Assessment Task 3: Discussion Board
In CAD101 this semester, for your final Assessment Task we are asking you describe the dysfunction (pathological) occurring in the brain of a person living with Vascular dementia (VaD) and how this dysfunction causes the clinical symptoms.
This task is broken down into two components; Part A and Part B, where each part has a separate due date.
Task description:
Part A
Choose one of the following Discussion Board Topics for Part A:
• Identify and describe the major pathological changes that occur in the brain of a person with Vascular Dementia.
You are required to make a post to the Discussion Board on your chosen topic and include at least five (5) current (<10 years old) academic resources to support your writing. You need to include in-text citations to demonstrate where information comes from and a reference list in Simplified Author-Date or American Psychological Association (APA) style, version 6 style.

Task length:
Part A: 500 words (including in-text citations but excluding the reference list)
Assessment criteria:
Part A
Criterion 1: Identify and describe the major pathological or clinical features of the chosen disease (70%)
Criterion 2a: Adherence to academic writing conventions – quality of academic writing (20%)
Criterion 2b: Adherence to academic convention – citations and reference list in an appropriate style (10%)

Submit your post as a Word document to the ‘Assessment Task 3: Part A’ Assignment folder by the due date. Please ensure the first page contains your name, student ID, unit code, Assessment Task title and word count.
THEN
Post your Discussion Board post on the ‘Assessment Task 3: Part A’ Discussion Board. You will not be able to access the Discussion Board until you submit to the AT3: Part A submission folder.
Part A: Due Monday 9th May 23:59 AEST (Hobart time)
In order to provide rapid feedback for this task, any Part A assignment submitted will be considered final and may not be altered. Marking will commence to facilitate rapid return of graded assignments after the due date. This is to provide you with as much time as possible to apply any feedback provided ahead of the due date for Assessment Task 3: Part B.
