Assessment 1: Constructing your theoretical framework
You are required to construct a theoretical framework for your research.
1. Develop your own research topic.
2. Describe your research problem (WHY)? and develop your research question and subquestions or aim and objectives.
3. Read at least 10 sources related to your research topic and present a literature review that addresses the following questions:
What is known about my chosen question?
What are the gaps in my topic?
4. Based on the literature review, identify a theory that can help you study and make sense of the topic.
5. Discuss the theory, how it has been used by other, and why it would be useful for your topic.
Your assignment should be well organized, containing an introduction, body paragraphs, and conclusion. Paragraphs contain clear topic sentences, focus on a single issue, are coherent, and organized according to an obvious pattern of argument. Effective use of transitional expressions and other signposts that make the structure of the document clear.
Assignment must be typed using Arial 11pt font and 1.5-line spacing, 2500-3500 words. All pages must be numbered. The preferred citation methods for essays are Harvard or APA referencing. The reference list at the end of your assignment should list – in alphabetical order. Assignments that do not comply will not be marked.
