2000 WORDS HEALTH INITIATIVE ASSISGNMENT

This assignment will assess the learning outcomes as listed below and is worth 60% of the overall module mark.

An understanding of historic and current developments in healthcare and how these relate to contemporary healthcare.

The ability to understand healthcare theory and different models of care and their impact on healthcare practice.

Skills

Ability to:

Access literature and information from a variety of sources.

Critically relate healthcare theory to healthcare practice.

A critical analysis of the impact of healthcare development upon healthcare practice.

Ability to construct an assignment, understanding the importance of the component parts of assignment structure.

THE HEALTH INITIATIVE SHOULD

 Can have public health related focus.
 Can have a clear nursing focus.
 The initiative must be clearly identified

 You work should tell the reader the aim of initiative the objectives (why it was introduced).
 You should state the history of the initiative: what was the reason for the initiative; what does the initiative replace (if there was anything previously).
 What was the problem? (what was the initiative trying ot address)?
 Evaluate the initiative – What was good? What was bad? What worked and what isn’t working? What work is yet to do: what are the recommendations (refer to relevant literature here using key words of the initiative).

Reflect on the progress of the initiative to date and the recommendations:
The current healthcare agenda:
With its focus on addressing individual need, respect (the concept of the 6Cs).
Individual choice, including the need to develop competent practitioners.
The use of theory to support practice: and then you can demonstrate the use of theory.

Summarise the findings from the above in your conclusion and pick up on the recommendations presented/given in the literature (that you give in the main body of your work) and give recommendations for future practice.
