Reflective report

The reflective report maximum (1500 words) should cover the following aspects:
x Brief description of the tasks/work carried out during the placement;
x Reflection on your personal learning and development in the context of:
x Requirements for professional membership of relevant professional organisation(s), such as the Royal Town Planning Institute, Royal Institution of
Chartered Surveyors , using skills maps, competency mapping, etc;
x At least two ethical issues, actually or potentially encountered in this field of work;
x Integration of at least two experiences from the placement(s) with your previous academic study;
Whilst it is expected that the report will be written in the first person, avoid unsubstantiated personal opinion. It is important to demonstrate critical reflection upon your placement experience. Whilst there is no prescribed structure for the report, we would expect the reflective element to be the most substantial part.
Any relevant sources/reference material should be referenced in the normal manner (Harvard Style) and any contribution by colleagues (e.g. your Placement Provider Supervisor) should be properly acknowledged.
The report should be illustrated with photographs, maps and diagrams, etc, as appropriate. Examples/extracts of work undertaken whilst on placement may be included in an appendix to the main report if relevant. An appendix will not count towards the word count and therefore should contain mainly factual information supporting, and cross-referenced to, the main report, rather than including further specifically written text/analysis. It is not necessary to use an appendix but if you do, it must not be more than six pages.
